refresh your home for spring

Spring is just around the corner and nature is waking up. Are you starting to feel the urge to make some changes in your home? You're not the only one, because spring is a time for new beginnings and change. But change doesn't need to be major. A little springtime refreshment of your home can be enough to make you feel better.

Spring cleaning

This should be your first step. Not only to get rid of the clutter that has accumulated in your home over the last few months, but also to find a precious thing or two you may have lost or forgotten around the house. Spring cleaning is not important only for its aesthetic and hygienic benefits. Studies confirm that a clean and tidy home makes people feel better. Even the process of cleaning, which many people have little love for, can have a therapeutic effect.

Refresh your walls

A rainy weekend that you can’t use for a quick getaway could be used to freshen up the walls of your home. You don't have to repaint your whole home. A little elbow grease and a new coat of colour on a single wall in your living room can make a big difference. And to top it off, you can replace your wall decorations.

Open your doors and windows to nature

Natural light has a beneficial effect, so make sure you let plenty in on increasingly longer days. Open your windows and doors, bring the outdoors and the indoors together and soak up some vitamin D. Your plants will thank you as well. If some have not managed to survive the winter, replace them with new ones and give your home some new life.

Replace your pillow

Another simple trick to freshen up your home is to change the simple decorations, such as the cushions on your sofa. This can make for a great change with minimal effort. If spring brings out your playful side, choose lighter tones.

A new piece of furniture

Of course, there's nothing wrong with going one step further and adding a new piece of furniture to your home. Choose your piece with a thought on quality craftsmanship and natural materials. At MIOTTO, we are always working to create new items that create an elegant and relaxing ambience. We'll be happy to help you put the finishing touch on your home's spring refreshment.
